The vernal equinox will occur on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, marking the start of spring. Maybe you have heard that you can stand an egg on its end on this day. Well, this myth is only partly true. You can indeed stand an egg on end, but the truth is you can do it on any date. Just use a rough surface for the best results.

Who made the 2018 Cover?

The cover is done and Mr. French will be taking all classroom candids for the yearbook this week. At Thursday's Great Assembly all group photos will be taken so make sure you are in school Thursday.

Bluebirds suffered considerable losses in the twentieth century as a result of the injudicious introductions English sparrows and European starlings to New York City. Mr. Hartless visits 5th grade to build bird boxes each spring and it is a welcome sound each year.

Winter's last gasps provides a beautiful mixture of sun and snow on the playground. The combination of warm and cold puts a smile on everyone's face.

We are looking for people who would like to donate their hair for this great cause. If you or your child would like to donate, there are some things you need to consider:

  1. Donated hair must be a minimum of 8 inches long (measured from just above the elastic band of the ponytail to the ends). We will have beauticians here ready to style and cut your hair. J
  2. If donating wavy/curly hair, you may straighten it before measuring
  3. Hair should be freshly washed and completely dry, without any styling products
  4. Hair may be colored with vegetable dyes, rinses and semi-permanent dyes; it cannot be bleached, permanently colored or chemically treated

We are in the planning parts of this big event and wanted to get the word out to you before you cut your hair! Help make a difference with your hair cut and join in with the Brockway Area Schools and Pantene Beautiful Lengths
