The school colors of RED and BLACK and the ROVER DOG mascot can both be traced to Mr. Edward Biss. When seeking the first football uniforms for Brockway, he found only red and black available. As a cub reporter for the Brockway Record, Mr. Biss once referred to the Brockway teams as rovers, since they had no home court and played all their games on the road. Since then the teams became known as the BROCKWAY ROVERS. Interscholastic athletic teams on various levels from junior high to varsity represent the school in baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball and wrestling. Varsity teams are fielded in all sports; junior varsity offerings vary. Boys are not eligible to participate on girl's teams. The Brockway Rovers enjoy a rich tradition of success as evidenced by their many league and district championships.
